Skyservice going down
Looks like Skyservice is going under.
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/repor...rticle1518479/ I've never flown with them but my friends did for a trip to Mexico once. Their outbound flight was delayed for a long time. One of the toilets on the plane didn't work. They didn't have a very good flight at all. To be honest, while I'd have to think twice whether I would choose a flight with them, it's kind of disappointing to lose that option & competition. |
I dunno. Personally, I never knew anyone who took Skyservice.
For me, it's losing a competitor I'd never have used. |
at least it looks like they fully paid out all their employees including vacation pay. More than can be said for other airlines that go bust.
|
Yeah, it's somewhat surprising in that it's an "orderly" shutdown where it appears that their staff have been paid up to date including vacation pay and that alternate flights are being arranged for pax.
On the surface, I don't see direct impact to my usual travel either but I'm curious if the loss of their nine planes causes any ripple effect in pricing. When scanning for vacation deals, they usually popped up for me with really cheap flights to Mexico. |
