check in time at YVR??

All, I've heard that the security at the Canadian airports since the panty-bomber has gotten really tight. I've traveling to YVR for three days in a couple of weeks and wondered what I can expect on the way back in terms of carry-on restrictions and the amount of time I will need to clear security.

Thanks for any insight you can offer! :)

One piece of carry-on only, no roll-a-boards, no backpacks.

Until/unless the TSA reduces its paranoia level, I'd give it a minimum 100 minutes even with elite status - 120+ hrs without.

When is your flight out of YVR scheduled to leave? Just want to ensure you aren't hitting "prime time".

7:55 AM on a Wednesday :( Do the security lines there accommodate for CO elite status?

Yes, and no.

The normal line just to get to US C&I will only take NEXUS for cutting through the line. Sometimes, this line is horrendous.

Once through, your CO Elite status may allow you to jump to the priority screening line.

I think you will have to have the airline give you the sticker, which would mean making a detour through the checkin desk if you weren't going to do that.

...sometimes. You can check in at CO and find out if you can get a BP sticker.

The workflow is -

- Arrive at YVR
- Fill out US Customs declaration
- Check in / Get luggage tagged
- Trundle bag to bag drop
- Boarding pass check
- Security screening
- US Border Services check
- US Border Services Secondary (takes moments, usually)

After that, you're 'through' and can proceed to your gate.
