Airport credit rating drops along with passenger traffic

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The war in Iraq may be hurting the finances of one of the country's biggest airports.
San Francisco International Airport's credit rating has been downgraded because passenger traffic has fallen since the start of the war in Iraq, and because the airport's biggest carrier, United, is experiencing financial problems.

Fitch Ratings dropped the airport's mark from AA- to A+ Wednesday, although the rating agency said most American airports are in good shape. The only other airport whose rating was lowered by Fitch was Boston's Logan International.
