Great View of San Diego

Cabrillo National Monument boasts a view of San Diego that is widely considered to be one of the finest harbor views in the nation, and is also home to the Old Point Loma Lighthouse, one of the first lighthouses built on the West Coast. http://www.nationalparks.org

You can also get a decent view of San Diego at Balboa Park. You get a nice view of downtown San Diego and also planes landing at Lindberg Field.

Yes the view from Point Loma is really quite fantastic.
Last time I was there the Americas Cup yachts were having trials in the channels just below the lighthouse which added tremendously to the ocean vista.
There is a large military cemetary on the drive up to the point and actually there are two lighthouses.
In Jan I believe, pods of grey whales can be seen on their annual migration to their
birthing grounds in Baja.
