Post Ranch Inn half off
 

The travel section of my local paper today says that the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur is offering 50 percent off of some of their rooms now. As the lowest regular rate is about $500 a night, it's still pricey, but I've never heard of them discounting their rates before. It appears you have to call for the lower rate as it's not on their website.

Wow, nice. Too bad I was down there earlier this month! The only "discount" this wonderful hotel usually offers is mid-week, and it's way above 50% off. Business must be slow.

Omni to letiole: Sniff! I didn't see any monarchs, I was too early. There is, however, a really nice exhibit at the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History at Forest and Central Ave. Plus some great exhibits on native plants, animals, people and geography.

Too bad blair. They should have been there. Was it cold? If it's at all chilly they're really tough to spot - they just look like so many leaves clumped in the trees. They can't open their wings and fly until it's above 73ish.
