Highway 50 In Sierra Closed Due To Mudslides
 
The main highway to South Lake Tahoe (from the California side) will be closed indefinitely. I haven't seen any estimate of reopening. It looks like it might take weeks to clear out all the mud and debris, and that's not accounting for how there is more rain in the forecast for the coming week. Plan accordingly.

How frustrating this must be for the ski resorts. Best snow in over a decade, and now people can't get there.

Same thing has been happening off and on further south at China Peak. Great snow and very limited access if at all.

Per https://twitter.com/caltransdist3 both US50 and I80 are open in both directions now (though only one westbound lane of I80)
