Ontario tends to be expensive. If you are willing to get out to LAX, it will be much cheaper.

LAX-SFO has five airlines, and they usually match each other's prices. Just go to Kayak or Orbitz and play around with the dates to find the cheapest fares.

Sign up for SWA's ding fares. You may find something as low as $60-80 OW. Every once in a while they'll have those $39, $69, $99 sales based on distance.

United flies its commuter affiliate's (United Express) regional jets between SFO and ONT but at much higher fares and less frequency than Southwest between OAK - ONT.

Go to the Southwest website - www.southwest.com - and use their Low Fare Calculator. It shows the lowest fares for each day over a 1 month period between any city pairs. You can quickly switch from ONT-SJC to ONT-SFO or ONT-OAK.
