Flying on July 4th

As July 4th is on a Thursday and I have a 9:30 AM flight from SJC I wonder if I will need more time or will all the people already be at their destinations as they take the week off?

Thanks

probably going to be pretty dead at the airport on July 4. Most people are with friends/family BBQ'ing. A lot of the travel is local too, mostly driving.

Thanks for the reply. Glad it won't be busy. I picked an early morning flight to avoid any traffic on the road. It will be nice to wait at the Club@SJC without lots of people.

I wouldn't bank on it being dead, but certainly more like a weekend than a weekday. Traffic should certainly be light. Christmas Day used to be a dead day at airports, but then more people started flying on that day to escape crowds and high prices on the 24th. Some people will make a four-day weekend out of the Fourth of July this year, so maybe more flying than in some years.
