Technie delay causes poverty
 

Just a moan - for the second time to my personal knowledge in just over 2 weeks, the Basel-London Gatwick morning flight has 'gone techie'. Last time I could laugh gently at some of my friends and their group of students as they were stuck for 4 hours whilst I jetted off to London City. Now it's my turn to be bitten in the bum as I've now been slotted for an 8 hour delay which has cost me my onward flight to Reykjavik with Iceland Express.

Of course there's nothing I can do - except enjoy my free coffee and pastry with an incredibly bitter taste - and I've had to book a one-way with Icelandair and connect to Heathrow to continue our booked and paid for holiday in Iceland.

Just a moan - .... happens. Hope you all get away on time and with all your luggage!

If it helps, you can use the time to reflect on all the money you've saved in the past by booking separate itineraries, and remember the times when it all worked out nicely.

Hi mad_rich! You made a good point, and yes, I am substantially ahead!! Having said that, arriving at KEF at 23H30 in daylight was amazing, and the guesthouse had left the key available and the front door open at 01H30 and although we had to be up for a tour with pickup at 07H30, we all survived and had an AMAZING holiday!!
