Best website / blog to get cheap International only flights ,

Hi ,
I hope to travel a lot in the next couple years and would like to find some cheaper flights , Airfarrwatchdog seems good for USA flights but I would really like International only out of my local airport ,
Mostly interested in South America and Asia or South Pacific ,

Is there anything like that ?
thanks

Try www.google.com/flights. Put LAX in your origin (I'm assuming that from your name?), and then something general like SOUTH AMERICA in your destination. Toss in starting and ending dates and hit SEARCH. A gorgeous map shows up, with prices to tons of places. Lots more features, but this will get you started.

Don't miss trying other airports in the Los Angeles area that would also work for you, as sometimes better deals are possible from nearby airports.

If you haven't already, definitely investigate loyalty programs with the various airlines so you can get miles and other privileges for your travels. And then use those miles for more trips. While you are investigating, think about whether you would benefit from focusing your travels on some specific airline so you get their privileges more quickly.

Sign up and you get e-mails when there's a deal out of the airports you select. Worth paying the nominal fee for the premium version, IMO.

there are apparently new cheaper airfares not available online for people under 31 years, students, teachers, lecturers, tutors & those working for some sort of edcuational institution of any age including part time, from LAX to Australia.

Also, often the cheapest fares never make it online, as they are bought up by wholesalers & tour operators.

Find a tour operator or wholesaler who specialises in the destination you want to go to. If they can't beat an airfare you've found, they might be able to throw in some accom, car hire etc. at the same price as airfare only.

I can see the post is from Jan 2013.
I would like to know, if it's still operational?

This is good. Also, find a travel advisor (agent) with good air consolidator suppliers willing to deal this. SOMETIMES-- not always --they can get you much better deals than published fares. Find what you want on Google, let them know and they can usually check quickly. Works best on international.

For domestic, or international, the other option is to ask the TA to look for bundled packages of air and hotel.

there are almost always deals that can't be found anywhere online. You need to find a specialist for area you want to go to.

If they can't do a cheaper fare, they might be able to throw in something, like hotels for few nights or car hire for a week.
