Sometimes the airline will request the card holder be at the airport for check in. Will you be going to the airport with your daughter?

I would do so just to be safe.

Is it an issue to add her as an authorized user? Often, they have the same number.

I have done this for a friend of mine at the Philippines. He flew from Manila to Malaysia. I booked the the ticket in my airasia account but added his name as the guest. worked flawlessly.

I have never been requested for the original card when flying any Air Asia flight.

If your daughter has any type of credit/debit card, I'd just pay with that, and reimburse her if necessary.

I believe they only request your card if it doesn't support 3D Secure.

My card doesn't suppord 3D Secure, and I've never been asked for my credit card on any Air Asia flight.

I booked some AirAsia (incl. AirAsia X) flights friends last year.

Had the same question and talked to someone I know at the airline - according to the person, booking tickets for others is no problem.

Had this go sour twice. First time my friend missed their flight as cash was required.

Second time I caught it early but had to go to the airport to pay for it.

I called my credit cards and everything trying to get it to work but couldn't.

Don't do it with a credit card. You can also buy AirAsia tix 3rd party thru some agents they sometimes show up in skyscanner. A better way.

Was this with Air Asia? Each airline has its own policy, and this thread is about Air Asia.

Thank you.

The only mention of Air Asia is in the next comment saying that you can buy Air Asia tix via third party. This does not say that the problems described were with Air Asia.

You are replying and quoting a 2.5 year old post.

The first two paragraphs do not say they are NOT about Air Asia tickets. Bumping a thread this old for a seemingly minor thing is usually frowned upon.
