What about S. America? You can always hop around Chile/Argentina/Peru.

I would include both China and Southeast Asia. China is very interesting and very cheap, but your best savings for this area is to prebook it as a package. You can then easily travel to SE Asia, where cost are still much cheaper than Eastern Europe.
