Beware Budget Ireland

Just back from a wonderful trip to the UK and Ireland. The only black spot on the trip was the 'service' received from Budget in Ireland.

Pick up October 11 SNN

-higher rate quoted upon arrival than I had reserved on Expedia. Problem begrudgingly corrected (without apology) after I presented Expedia print-out

-picked up car with 1/4 tank, decided (thank God) to fill up just as we exited airport. Found that the fuel door lever was broken (can you imagine finding out that, on an empty tank, you cannot fuel up at night time in rural Ireland?). Car replaced, no apolgy/upgrade/anything.

Drop off October 16 DUB

-drop off area is a shed really. Told that there is no shuttle to the terminal and that we would have to walk (outside)15 minutes to the terminal. Now I love to walk, but you have to realize that it was cold, very windy and my girlfriend (high heels) and I were lugging four pieces of luggage. As any of you who have spent time in Ireland know, it can rain at times http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif...thankfully for us, that was not the case or we'd have been soaked to the skin.

I hate to sound like a spoiled North American, but I think we had a right to expect more.

A spoiled North American.... I think not.

I would have blown a fuse if they had told me to walk to the terminal. I would let Budget corporate know about this.... they have always been quick to "alleviate" my attitude in the form Budget points.
