It figures. I'm travelling to Atlanta on October, and it isn't on the participating locations list

I'm going to Hartford, CT in October. (3rd to 8th to be exact.) The link shows Hartford as a location for this special rate, but I'm getting a rate of $189 and up for the time period.

Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong with this reservation?

hmm, not sure what's happening. Maybe it's good for certain locations and not for others. Is there more than one spot in Hartford with a Budget Rental Agency? Maybe we tried using this at the wrong one?

dbk10, Thanks for the link. I just reserved a full-size car on Maui in November for $175/wk.+ taxes&fees. So far it's the best rate I've found.

Try rate code L5. You might get a better rate.

Thanks!
Saved me $50 off an already cheap rental at FLL.

My base rate was $85/wk. higher on Maui with rate code L5 as opposed to the original link on this thread. I'll check it on some other reservations I have.

Thanks. I just got a great deal on a four day full-size rental. I saved $70 off the lowest rate I could find.

I think the L5 was a sale from airports in certain locations - so it might work in some places, and not in others. I used it in Albuquerque and got a lower rate at the airport for a compact than it would have been in the city when originally the airport was about $30 higher. Because of some problems with the car they gave me, they upgraded me to a Lincoln Town Car - What would have been a $400 rental (which I would never have done), It cost me $149 because I also had a $20 coupon downloaded from smarterliving.com. I would check out that site as well - you can sign up and they will e-mail you specials as well as all airline net-saaver fares from your city.

Atlanta is notorious for not participating in ANYTHING. The don't even partake in the Perfect Drive program... you have to fax your receipts to corporate to get credit.

A big THANK YOU to dbk10 for this information.

It saved a ladyfriend of mine almost half of the best rates that she could find at Miami Airport in October for 2 weeks.

YES. The most independently minded Budget franchise, perhaps? I've always associated Atlanta with Chrysler products even when Fords were the norm elsewhere.

And I thought LAS was tough. I couldn't even get a free upgrade w/cert in LAS.
