Returning a rental early?
Hi, I hope any Budget regulars can help me with this question...
I booked a pre-paid rental for a mini-van from YYZ for 7 days. My plans have changed and I now only need the car for 3 days, but still collecting at the same time. I tried to change the rental period online but after putting in the shortened dates, the system told me my requested vehicle type was not available (which makes no sense as I would be collecting the same vehicle at the same time on my original booking). So I phoned the call centre and the agent told me the same thing as the website and there was nothing he could do about it. They had no other 7 seat options available either, so I couldn't even pick a different car group. The agent then told me I could collect the car on the original booking, phone them back after I had collected and reduce the period to the new requirement and that I would get refunded the difference and not incur any charges... I am a little sceptical to say the least, can anyone confirm what will happen if I try that? Many thanks Chris |
