If I reserve economy will I get economy?

Might sounds like a strange question but the 4 or 5 times I have reserved an economy with other companies each time I have received an upgrade. Minivan, midsize, standard, etc but have yet to actually get an economy. Probably just lucky (altho at Thrifty Orlando the lot guy said they never have any economy cars) but can I expect this to continue at Budget LAS? Anyone received an economy there before? Ty for any input.

Most likely no. They don't have them as they are limited.

So 2 days before arrival they actually had a super low price for a premium; $166 for 8 days, taxes and fees incl, Costco. Which I booked and when I got to my space it was,,, a full size (Impala). So maybe I should have gone the other way.

Reserving economy at any rental car agency is very YMMV. I rented economy from Budget last weekend at SJC, and ended up with a Jetta.

Personally I WANT an economy/ compact for the good mpg. I get an attitude when they try to upgrade me beyond a compact.

I always reserve an economy car (or a compact if there is no price difference). On a few occasions, I have actually received an economy car, such as the Mazda 2 recently in CLT. On the other hand, my economy reservation at BUR turned into a Ford Mustang convertible: rather nice, for about $20.
