There must be scope to cause chaos by creating and leaving cleverly designed spurious documents at many points in and around airport lounges, planes, trains, City pubs and other public areas.

I'm not very clear what you regarded as objectionable. Was it that the plate was overflowing and he should have used two plates to stop it spilling on the floor? Or that he had ate a lot and others went without? Or that it cost BA an excessive amount of money? Or that he ate too fast and this was somehow vulgar, maybe noisy? Or that he ate at the computer area and this is somehow bad?

I've re-read your post and genuinely can't tell what the issue was.

And is it going down? My waistline, at 32-33", really hasn't budged in ten years, although it is sadly a little bigger than when I was 20. Bouts of low-fat yogurt and bananas don't seem to make a lot of difference, so short of surgery I've given up.

A splendid first post, probably one of the best ever on FT. Welcome. I think you have nothing to apologize for whatsoever, and hope you will stick around.

I think it's fair to say this thread might serve as a salutary warning to those thinking about ranting about fellow passengers in the anonimity of the interweb

Good grief! Im impressed you remembered all that - or did you take a photo in case of future accusations of breakfast gluttony? BTW, soldiers are really only to be used with boiled eggs.

Awww......... c'mon, mateys.... give Petrus a break! He's just venting. We all do it. Plus the written word can look far more strident than it was intended. I stick by Petrus.

The 'soldier', or perhaps better described 'eggy soldier', has a reference here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A592481

How it got such a name is something of a mystery to me. Wiser souls may enlighten.

You can get those lovely coloured boarding passes at SIN. I have a few used ones if you would like them ;-) They are only WT and WT+ though.

As for the thread, I thought it was hilarious - expecting consideration when there appears to be none can be a double edged sword
