I'm having issues inputting a Suckling Airways flight with a CB_ prefix, and it is dropping out sadly.

Could you add the AA Admirals club lounges at PHX, please?

Thank you

I'm still having the same issue. I can not change "Aircraft" from "A320" to "Airbus A320" or (as a workaround) to "Airbus_A320".

Is the fix in place now? I'm trying to edit a saved sector with an aircraft type of A320-200 to A320-200 WL (which I've used before), but it does't save.

I am also still having the same issue. For example, entering "Boeing 777-300ER" in "Aircraft" does not work for new entries or when trying to edit existing ones.

Older flights with the same entry in "Aircraft" are still fine.

Yes the bug/accidental feature doesn't allow spaces in the Aircraft Field. Seems an issue brought about by the new input method. They should treat the aircraft box like "Notes" as that doesn't have the issue. Past entries remain as they are.

Your best bet now is to enter as either "Boeing777-300ER", "Boeing-777-300ER" or "B777-300ER" until it is changed. When that is, I don't know, only @BA97 can advise.

Fix for this is in the works, proving a little more fiddly than anticipated. I'll reply back when there's something to test.

I did see your post, it solicited a lounge invitation (which is not the purpose of this topic) so that is likely the reason for its disappearance.

Why are people not using IATA codes which are much shorter and thus don‘t cause issues? 77W for Boeing 777-300ER?

Some people don‘t want to. And for example above they mentioned that they specify the aircraft name including the specific second three digit numbers (meaning the engine/airline) and additions such as WL, which could not be done in the short code.

I‘m not sure how you could do it, but imo a possible fix could be to either replace the space symbol by another one, but on the summary show a space instead of the placeholder symbol, or change the symbol used to change to the next field so that space is free and can be used again. Or you could have two spaces next to each other revert to show a single space without changing fields? Or maybe the combibation *[space] could mean ordinary space and be shown only as space in the summery (without triggering the change field function).

Just some ideas...

I'm sure it is different for everyone but for me the IATA codes are often the same for two aircraft that I want differentiated. For example my A320/A321 "-100" and "-200" I wanted to provide more detail. Also 777-200 and 777-200ER have the same codes. Another was the ATR42/72. Very different aircraft but most variants (not all I know), have the same code of just ATR and I don't think it is weird to be able to write "ATR 42" or "ATR 72" instead.

Also as others mentioned adding in the other digits after the Airbus' for engine model or customer code for Boeing or even other options such as WL/SL some people might want.

What works for one doesn't necessarily work for all. Whatever you want, having the option is never a bad thing.

Parsing the input string is now fixed. Fields which support entering strings containing spaces (currently 'Aircraft' and 'Notes') can be double quote delimited, eg.

10MAY2019 1215 LX343 LAX GVA F "Boeing 777-300ER" 01A "here are some notes"
