Indeed!

It's royally screwed now - has been for nearly four days. I've been calling them a lot but I can't get through to anyone who has a clue.

Are you sure your service provider is not funded by Unite ?

It seems to be a problem with the application pool the site runs in. They reset it and all is well again. I wonder if it's heavily resource-constrained, or possibly shared with another (misbehaving) application. The database is solid, it's a web layer issue.
