I'd say next for the can, BKK-SYD and SIN-SYD.
They want to stick to SYD to maintain 'global status'. Even if they were to drop it, Qantas would probably have to make up the capacity, so that's unlikely until they've got LHR A380s online.

Sorry, the B767 is going to LHR to free up a B777 for the LGW route. American Airlines may take it up if it proves viable enough, or maybe even Virgin!

Isn't MAN-JFK now operated by LHR based crew?

Correct, it hasn't used MAN based crews for a year now I think...

Correct. Something like:

Day 1: LHR-EWR
Day 2: JFK-MAN
Day 4: MAN-JFK
Day 6: EWR-LHR

AF is now Paris airlines......
Been to LYS recently? MRS? CFE? SXB?

That's before mentioning the non-French AMS or LCY.

They may not fly to IAD from the above airports, but they do go to an awful lot of places. In fact, AFKL fly to more British airports than BA do!

In fairness the number of AF destinations from these airports is fairly limited. They exist and traffic levels are fairly healthy, much like like BA at MAN and others before the relentless onslaught of the LCCs decimated BA's ex-LON business model in probably the most price-sensitive market in Europe. Ryanair is expanding aggressively at MRS..

France and UK are very similar in that the economy is highly centralized on the capital cities and surrounding regions. Germany's economic pattern follow's it's politics and is scattered among the federal states, allowing LH to operate 2 large hubs and various mini-hubs successfully (FRA, MUC, HAM, DUS and STU are all international business centers of varying importance in their own right).

Though AF remains commited to it's non-Paris model, the general rule of thumb is that you still have to fly through CDG to get anywhere of note

Is it certain MAN flights are to stop?

I've just done a dummy booking for november, LGW-JFK. The direct flights are showing, but 5 of the 6 options are flying via MAN!

Yeah sadly it is, Aviance BA staff contingent were told this morning. Just seems like BA is slow in taking its flights out of the system as usual.

I disagree. Apart from SXB, these places are mini-hubs in their own right.
CFE alone (population: 145k, or less than half the population of Leicester) has 16 direct destinations!! Passengers flying between Paris and Corsica often change planes to CCM at MRS. The lowcosts have been unable to break into the market exactly because of the AF network's extensive coverage and the airline's operational reliability (people are willing to pay a bit extra to fly AF). And all this while competing against ridiculously fast trains on heavily subsidised (even if there's nothing wrong with that from a general "greater good" point of view IMHO) SNCF.

course it can. BA aren't obligated to fly to Sydney. They dropped Melbourne whilst the JSA exists and they can codeshare on QF to Australia

And the vast majority of those destinations from CFE are domestic with 3 lone international destinations (AMS, GVA and LIN). Granted, it's already better than BA at MAN, no one is arguing with that, but AF are hardly offering travellers from Clermont a smorgasbord of destinations to choose from

Probably similar to all the [email protected] that was spouted when routes were axed from the only regional airport with a long haul product left now - LGW.

Of course it won't. IIRC JFK was the last non-London destination that MAN had.

Such a shame - just a further dilution of what used to be a truly "British" airline. I feel sorry for any staff affected by it.

BA Inter-Regional flights - GONE
BA Ground staff at regions - GONE
Club Europe flights from regions - GONE
Premium checkin from regions - GONE
Loganair franchise - GONE
BMED - GONE
GB Airways - GONE
Full service on domestic flights - GONE (except on very few morning flights)
now ex-Man JFK flights - GONE

When are we going to see what we want? - Willie Walsh - GONE

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that the LHR/LGW-MAN Shuttles could be dropped and BA withdraw from MAN altogether; especially if there is pressure on slots down at LHR.
