My area of knowledge of the Treaty of Rome relates to other areas ie trade but from first reading of Article 43 and its provisions I would say that BA do not have a valid challenge under that particular section.
Yeah, I know I am a teacher not a lawyer, but I have worked within some of the legislation in a previous "life"

I'm so sorry, honestly we really didnt want this. If you have flexible tickets and the increase isnt too much then it might be an idea, if not I wouldnt blow the money just yet.

Heathrow Terminal 5 opens on 27 March so presumably that will be a strong incentive on BA (at least) to resolve any strike before then...

When would the pilots have to strike before a re ballot would be necessary?

So would 25th March be out of the equation?

OK I don't know the full details of what's been going on, as I've never flown BA before (and therefore had not much interest in its business). However, next Thursday my friends and I are flying EWR-LHR and then LGW-TFS, all on BA. Is this potentially going to become complicated due to what has happened?

No, the strike, if/when it happens is at least 7 days away ... so you will get to enjoy Tenerife!

When are your return dates? Your TFS-LGW flight will be okay - flown by GB Airways who will not be affected

If there were 3 1-day strikes once a fortnight around 25 Mar, 6 and 20 April ...

US Air is out of the question but LH is well-equipped for a daytime flight with immediate seat-assignment and good baggage-handling.
