OT: Good Seats on Qantas? (Booked flights visable on BA.com)
Is there a way to ensure I get a nice seat on a quantas flight?
It looks like I can't do anything from BA.com - it won't let me.
The Qantas website seems even less useful.
Is is just a case of first come first serve?
(I have 6 flights in the next 6 days so I am keen not to be the middle seat guy).
Thx for the help ^

Ring QF and make sure your Gold card number is attached to the booking and let them know your seating preference.
If they are in J or F (not sure about Y) and are longhaul you can ring and get them to pre-select seats for you.
For domestic flights the QF systems do a sweep 24 hours or so before a flight and assign seats based on the QF or OW status.

Thanks for your Help - My Status is loaded so fingers crossed I will get a reasonable seat.
All Y I am afraid (SIN > SYD > AKL > SYD > MEL >SYD > SIN)
I can't wait..... I think I will need to get someone to walk all over my back when I get into Singapore again!

After searching this board, I opted for 3A but it's all good.
It was close to painless which is the way it's supposed to be. I read that somewhere.

Look at
http://www.qantas.com.au/regions/do/dyn/yourBooking
And the seat for each flight will be displayed, if they have assigned one.

Nothing comes up on Qantas.....
Just got given seats at the airport.
5hrs early for flight so they gave me the best Econ seat there is.
28C which according to SeatGuru
* Limited recline in front of a Jump seat
* Outside a Lavy
* No Window
The seat Gods surely love me....
Or someone really wants me to go *A for future trips.
I am asking to be moved, lets see what happens.

I have flights coming up with Qantas in Y on QF6/5. I emailed ( [email protected] ) them straight after booking and asked them to preassign seats (70A&B on a 747). They emailed back and were more than happy to. This pre-assignment does not show up on MMB on Qantas. However upon checking Ba.com MMB and Checkmytrip.com the seats are preassigned. So I am not completely convinced that Qantas do show seat assignment on MMB.
