Ideas on spending some airmiles?

Hi All,

Any ideas on the best way to spend 75K BA miles????
Unfortunately cannot use them for upgrades as my company forces me to use a travel agent and when i tried this before with BA, they declined the use of airmiles for upgrades when the ticket has been booked with a travel agent and not directly with BA.

Could you earn 25K more easily? If so, you could get a Club World return UK<>North America for personal use? You could also use MFUs for personal use/leisure trips (again, 25K a return UK<>North America as an example).

What do you really want to achieve - to wipe out the balance? Keep the miles alive? (If so, there are easier ways - any small credit will do)? Have a nice holiday, etc.?

Give us a little more info and we can surely suggest something creative :)

Do be aware that BA Miles are NOT the same as air miles, whcih is a branded scheme, seperate to BA Miles.

You should join www.ba.com/onbusiness to get additional "double dip" accrual for all your work flights.

Where are you based and what routes do you travel? BA Miles are best used on personal trips, not work ones, so you should be able to get around company policy by booking yourself on ba.com for leisure journeys.

The 25k roundtrip WT+ to Club World book and upgade MFU option is best use of the miles. especially transatlantically.

So how do yo do this if you work for a large company?

Go into MMB and see if 'Add OnBusiness' option is highlighted. If it isnt, then your company has an OB account and there is nothing you can do. If it is, then your company is not using OB. You can therefore open an account for your own imaginary business and then add the number to your future bookings through MMB.

Best use of 75k is probably World Traveller Plus to the US, Caribbean, Mexico, Africa etc - although you are far, far better off waiting until you have 100k and then redeeming for a Club ticket on the same routes, given that the difference between WT+ and Club is so massive.

It does ask for the Companies House company registration number though.
