Mixed BA and AA award travel?
I'm planning a family trip from DEN to Crete next summer, and was hoping to take advantage of the direct flights from DEN to LHR and LHR to HER on BA.
However, we don't have enough miles on BA or AA alone to do it, and will need to split the award tickets between BA and AA. Will it be possible to keep everyone on the same flights? (Or does the BA/AA over the water rule apply here?) Thanks! |
You cannot redeem AA miles US-LON. You could do BA DEN-LHR-DEN and then AA LHR-HER-LHR in theory if you have the right amount miles in both accounts.

Thanks!
I assume that BA has a reciprocal agreement with AA, so that I couldn't use BA miles to fly AA across the water as well? |

That would be a bit tricky, seeing as BA doesn't fly LHR-HER, unless you fly LHR-MAN-HER. There is of course LGW-HER, at the normal ungodly hours for the GT flights, such as HER 0120 LGW 0315. |

'Tis a fair point :) I just copied what the OP had written. Honestly, I can't be expected to check every tiny detail! Though not as  as I am at myself for not knowing it in the first place anyway, of course ;)
It's so good to catch you out. ;) |
