Clearing F Waitlist

My colleague and i have booked full fare F LHR-YYZ. When we booked we were told there was a waitlist for F. That was a week ago, and since then my colleague has cleared the waitlist and now has a confirmed seat in F. But I'm still on the waitlist, with a confirmed J seat.

Two questions:

I just made Gold today. Should I expect this to significantly boost my chances of clearing the list?

Expertflyer shows F0 A0 for the flight in question. But when you check the seat map it shows two available seats in F. Are these seats BA is holding on to, and will release later?

Thanks for any advice anyone can give. It's not that I can't face 8 hours in J, but that we kind of need to discuss stuff on the flight, so not much use if he's up front and I'm not.

Please provide the flight details and I'll check the BA system.

P.S. And change your profile to BA Gold.... I remember when PhilH got Gold he was online in a flash!

Thanks. You're a star. I'll PM you them.

Will change my programmes tomorrow. I hit 1500 tier points today (on the nose!) but I guess it won't change to Gold on the system until after midnight.

Should have changed already. I think it's pretty instant. I checked up on PhilH's status when I was in SIN and he'd just come off another flight somewhere (if I remember correctly) and it was all done. You should now, officially, be Gold. Congrats.
