Ok, so where do I fit in - I am a little overweight (but as a flanker in a previous life it is no surprise) but definitely UNDERPAID.

Is there some co-efficient I can work to to find out whether I qualify for J.

Is it sector or milage based? Would I be ok for s/h J, but l/h is a no-no?

.. and then retire to the back behind a curtain to read the papers for the rest of the flight. And don't dare go behind that curtain.

Mind you, I'm sure the seat pitch is modelled around MOL's height.

Nah, Michael O'Leary says economy or luggage compartment for you...

But it is ok, I will take good care of your wallet and credit cards whilst you are stuck back there...

Well clearly we are all OK then flying with BA, it has been a while since a "fine wine" graced my glass on a BA flight

I was thinking that as well.

I thought this was worthy as a thread as I felt it was clear whom that statement was aimed at. After all how many airlines in Europe truly have Flat beds in Business class?

I posted earlier in this thread that one of the "ill" effects of RyanAir is by spreading cultural imperialism and/or pollution through its ridiculously low fares. (Mostly jokingly...)

But there was an article in the International Herald Tribune today about this very phenomenon, specifically about Deauville in Normandy. Basically, the people there are afraid RyanAir will bring the "wrong sort" of tourist to its quiet seaside. It is described as a place where the airport has as many private jets as charters, Hermes and Louis Vuitton help unload the winnings of gamblers in the famous casinos, there are film festivals, and it is known as a bit of a playground of the Parisian elite.

Of course, there is an element of snobbery in the whole idea of wanting to keep the "RyanAir set" away. But I thought it was an interesting article, considering the idea that a single airline with a few flights could potentially change the character of a place. Y'all be the judge. Here are some pickings:

My sympathies to the fine people of Deauville. They don't know what's about to hit them!
