Families first trip with BA a TOTAL disaster

Pee up in a brewery springs to mind.

I shall keep it short and sweet 4 flights all delayed the worst by 2 hours for a weekend away, they lost all the luggage, took me 3 hours to get through to some one on the lost luggage line.

It short BA is the worst carrier I have ever flown.

Incompetence Airways would be a more fitting name

What a shame! Would you care to tell us the details as we might be able to help or advise? Given your first sentence would that not be Incontinence Airways?

Sorry to hear Dino.

I'm guessing these were short-haul flights... And were the delays weather-related?

Some details please!

Sounds like a nightmare, nothing worse than having family around to compound problems we all face every time we fly. Hope it was all on the return leg.

The OP obviously hasnt had the pleasure of taking 4 flights on Iberia, involving 2 missed connections...

There have been weather problems in the South of England today delaying flights. Thunderstorms on and off here on the south coast all afternoon and also around LHR. High winds not helping either, nor is a shortage of staff at ATC... not my fault though as it's my day off!

SUBJECT: HIGH DELAY IN EGLYD, EGLMS, EGDVR, EGLL AND EGSS.
.
OPERATORS AND ATC UNITS ARE ADVISED THAT THERE ARE
HIGH DELAYS FOR ALL TRAFFIC OVERFLYING LYD DVR AND LMS SECTORS
AND DESTINATION EGLL AND EGSS.
.
DELAYS ARE CAUSED DUE TO CB ACTIVITY IN UK AREA.
.
DELAYS ARE BUILDING UP IN EGLL UP TO 120 MIN, IN LMS SECTOR UP TO
90 MIN, IN EGSS UP TO 75 MIN, IN DVR UP TO 60 MIN, IN LYD UP TO
65 MIN.
.
IN THE MEANTIME OPERATORS ARE STRONGLY REQUESTED NOT TO TELEPHONE
FMD HELPDESK ABOUT DELAYS WHICH ARE TYPICAL/AVERAGE.

KEY: EGLL is Heathrow, EGSS is Stansted. EGLYD, EGDVR, EGLMS are ATC sectors over South east england and the channel. You would probably fly through LYD sector to get to Gatwick. If they are still in transit, it may take them a while to get home...

The mother of all storms is hitting Brighton at the moment... it looks like the house is going througha car wash looking out of the window! Thunder and lightning and the windows are rattling with the noise!

I basically couldn't go as I have hurt my back, a good job really as you need some one full time trying the lost baggage line continuously.

There still in stransit and will give the details when there back.

but yes a short haul European trip, via LGW

I've had multiple bad experiences with every carrier you can name: BA, AA, US, UA, etc, etc. Heck, I remember Piedmont, Eastern, and Braniff all being bad to me and my family.

Terrible when it happens on your first flight.

Out of interest, what were the routes involved?

So it was one trip: ???-LGW-??? and return. Flight was delayed, resulting in bags missing connection. Which in turn resulted in major incontinence. Have I missed anything?

<Sherlock hat on>

Well, I know the OP is not London based. So I guess they flew a routing like say:

Oop North <-> LGW <-> XXX <-> LGW <-> Oop North

Which would give 4 segments.

<Sherlock hat off>

And yes, this drip-feed info strategy does seem to be catching!

And given the OP has *A Gold but no status on BA, let's assume he was flying from a BD hub to a BA destination not served by BD, so EDI-LGW-TFS perhaps?

Now, as for what was in his/her luggage..

I'd swap EDI for NCL perhaps, but you might be on the right track! Keep sniffing...

OP should fly NW or US before he declares BA "worst." Not a legit competition if he doesn't at least give the world's premier bad airlines a chance to send his luggage where the sun dont shine then treat him to a bit of rudeness.
