Earning AA Miles on LGW-BDA

Quick question - thought it would be more appropriate on the BA board than AA - can one earn AA miles when travelling on BA2233 from LGW to BDA? I know that you can't when flying on most BA transatlantic flights but just wondering if Bermuda counted?

Thanks

It is flights to the US that are the problem.

Bermuda is not part of the US so you will earn AA miles on that route as long as you are in an appropriate fare class.

Thanks Moomba :p

I believe it is a transatlantic ruling rather than UK-US thing. If you enter the details into the mileage calculator it shows LGW-BDA crediting to AA as earning 0 miles.

Huh? What has the BA mileage calculator got to do with earning AA miles on a BA flight?

One would expect the arrangement to be 100% reciprocal, which explains the relevance.

What did OP put into the calculator in order to check this?

AA don't fly LGW-BDA (direct) so it is not going to give any relevant information if they plugged those city pairs in. As far as I know the calculator only works on direct point to point flights.

MIA-BDA on AA (which they do fly) will earn BA miles according to the BA calculator.

You earn AA miles on BA flights to Canada which is transatlantic; likewise for flights to Mexico.
