Health care professional (in fact, at work right now). Thank god our contract gives us generous holiday time off, getting better after years of slog (which I've earned, d@mmit!). The only business travel I do is conferences locally :( , which is why every EC mile matters - more MFUs, please!

Me too - Pan-European IT and started our office in Russia last year. First time I properly used my Russian, 15 years after graduating.

Everything below 2 hours in Y, above 2 hours in J.. same policy for everyone in the company. LHR - LIN a particular bugbear of mine as it is officially Y (despite being just over 2 hours) and is always very very full and cramped..

I can just hear my mum now - that Smirnoff has TWO wives and you don't even have one, yada, yada, yada...

Electronics (not IT!). As most of our customers are outside the UK, there's a fair amount of travel, but it's always down the back.

Can't answer for Smirnoff but it can be a very risky place for your relationships!! Despite the "Grrrr Moscow" thread there's lots of upsides to working out there but you gotta be careful...

Hmmm ... don't hurry back. Ours is being referred to by some as New Conservative.

Actually I miss OZ, QLD in particular. Not much chance of returning before the end of the year, which reminds me ...

Ah yes, wishful thinking :D . The problem is you guys have stitched up the ticket booking system. Aussies only for a couple of weeks and IF there are any tickets left, they will be offered to the masses, like breadcrumbs from the table. I though you had abolished descrimination.

Anyway, Melbourne and Sydney look possible.

Ah yes, international trade development for a major manufacturing industry. Previously Europe, now nominally North, Central and South America (mainly US) and South Africa, with excursions to China, Germany and France.

I would have thought airline/aviation is the obvious one - and even if you don't get to travel on business, in an airline you get great staff travel benefits - although no miles/points, and possibly lousy pay.

But as other posters have mentioned you do usually need a certain level in the company.

Mine is media (online and print - but I'm not a journalist :) ) related to the aviation/aerospace industry - off to an FFP conference in Bangkok and Asian Aerospace in Singapore next week.

Now what was the question???

The question was, Dear, what do you do for a living. Stir things I should think in your case

;)

I am so sorry that you left the UK, but stay where you are. If we seem nice, just imagine what the rest must be like!! :D

What do you do for a living. I control badly behaved men.

I am an Engineer/ Senior Manager in my Company we have just started offsetting manufacture in China so off I trot 3/4 times a year, however this may increase substantially in the future, unfortunately BA J is a tad too pricey, unless its an ex ATH or something but this is a no go if my boss is travelling as he flies from GLA.

Apart from that I trot around Europe maybe 5/6 times a year seeing clients, but most of this is ex Stansted so Easyjet and Ryanair :(

However thanks to all the advice I have gleaned from here my girl and I always get to fly J or F on our hols ^

Marketing for a UK blue chip company. My travel mix is about 50/50 business/leisure.

Pharma & FMCG Supply Chain.

Well, another student here, but a Business/International Relations double major for me.

My flying is mostly leisure, with the odd trip to a job interview thrown in. I've also done some internships in far flung places (MEX, SIN, PVG) and those have sometimes required a bit of travel for business, plus the travel any sane person with too much time on their hands would do if they suddenly found themselves in such exotic locales.

Other than that, there's my commute ZRH (school) to FRA (home), which I do about every 6-8 weeks.

The industry I'm looking to join is management consulting, which I'm surprised no one has mentioned yet. The people I know in that line of work also do a fair bit of flying.

Is it really an industry (or numerous and growing bunch of overpaid "specialists" who did not succeed in the "real world" environment)?...

Excuse my bit aggreessiveness - just cannot get over after spending week with the group from (one of big 4) who consulted/demonstrated absolutely nothing but charged mountains...
Assuming you are a student (so not so olderly), may I ask how many years you worked in "real world" before starting to be a consultant?...

Sounds like this thread triggers lots of side touchpointrs (Russian girls, OZ-UK relationships and above point might be popular one to comment :) )
