BA launches biggest/best FF award. Oh, really??

Award covers FF members in USA, Canada...and for the first time, the Caribbean.

British Airways, appreciate if you would review your geographical definitions and apply such consistently.

On one hand, for rewards, Bermuda is not part of the USA/Canada, but rather the Caribbean. However for the above referenced promotion, Bermuda is not in the Caribbean. The press release is very misleading.

British Airways, please define geographical areas consisently. On behalf of all persons who have flown BA from Bermuda to Gatwick, through thick and thin, we respectfully request clarification of the "rules".

We appreciate being treated fairly and with equanimity. A clarification to your press release of September 27 is in order, don't you think?

Respectfully,

BA Exec Gold, reviewing, again, routing alternatives, hoping BA will do the right thing

Apart for their well-known, consistent, Tory-wishful-thinking interprepretation of the word Europe (a coincidence you also get the Mail for free on BA?), sadly the BAEC seems to have very unclear ideas about whether Bermuda, Barbados, and the like, should be in the US, or in the Caribbean. This confusion creates problems, for instance, when booking with an AMEX241 that prescribes that outward and inward portions of the journey must be from the same geographical area. The tables in the BAEC literature, and their back-end systems treat certain destinations in a different way - can give examples if required. I brought it to the attention of two newcastle supervisors, but they seemed more interested to prove their point about what is allowed or not allowed by their system than to fix the problem and make the relevant people (ba.com and literature editors) aware of this.
