First digit of membership number
Hi - I've tried searching and failed...
Somewhat impressively, less than a week after faxing off the household account form my parents and girlfriend seem to be set up with BA Executive Club as their names appear online when I select the MFU option.
Froggee is very happy with such speed after reading that the process involved BA losing the application fax at least twice.
As a lowly Blue member, my membership number begins with 4. I think this is how it works? At least that's how KLM used to work before they got Francified. If that's a word.
However, they are all listed with numbers beginning with a "1" - 1222**** on the site. Is this a temporary thing? If not - what does the "1" mean?
Yours mystified.

The numbers seem pretty random. Since your number won't change if you get promoted, it certainly has nothing to do with status.
Possibly BA are back to the start allocating numbers (filling in expired accounts), but who knows.
