Yes, they are upgradeable. It's an "I" fare, upgradeable to FIRST with 50K miles.

I upgraded a ticket bought on the Thanksgiving weekend sale without any problem.

And, actually, this particular fare sale is not all that special. BA has been running prices at about this level (give or take $200) all year ... the only difference here is that in this case it doesn't require 42-day advance booking. Normally the fare in this price range requires 42-day advance booking, which can be quite difficult to plan.

There is one other difference with this promotion, though ... you can get good deals on connections through to Europe in CE. On the standard 42-day advance purchase deal that they've been offering, you can only get the "I" fare to London.
