NHS Discount?

I know this might seem like a silly question to you gurus of the airways, but is there such a thing as discounted flights for NHS medical staff in the UK (or a travel agent who specialises in such things?) I was wondering if they maybe had something akin to a corporate rate?

Not directly an answer to your question but I had a client who worked for a Government agency who via their travel agency (Pickfords, I think) got Government discount on BMI - but I did notice that the fares they got for him were always discounted full Y or C when there was much cheaper available on BMI's web site.

I think each PCT has to make their own arrangements.

No, it's just the F service, and particularly the Champagne, which is going NHS...

You're joking - right? Most NHS trusts will just about pay train fares, there is no way that any of the 10+ trusts I have worked for would ever pay airfares for any of their medical staff. Management may be different  Some of the bigger trusts have hotel discounts but that's about it

It wasnt for an NHS trust to pay the fees, it was just that I was curious if BA (or any other carier in the UK) gave a discount for staff in the health service. I know for example some US hotel chains (and I think cariers) give discounts to medical staff (as well as teachers) on certain fairs.

I knew this was a long shot - but hey, nothing ventured nothing gained :)

I believe you could get a somewhere in the region of 10-15% discount on BA as serving military personnel, this was done through a TA I believe, although I never took advantage of it
