Amex Miles
 

I applied for an amex card before Xmas - to get the 1000 miles - my spends so far have appeared on my BA statement (1 mile per £1 spent) - but the 1000 mile joining "bonus" has never arrived - anyone know how long it takes?

You applied for the card before Xmas and are already showing miles in your account?

I find with mine that the miles only posted on the day that the bill runs from. I run from 24th to 24th of each month and the miles post on the 24th.

I'd expect the 1000 miles to come wrapped up with your first monthly statement

Sorry about the confusion - when I say before Xmas - I meant early December - got my first statement a week ago - all the miles have appeared - but no 1000 "bonus" - I will see if it appears in the next month and chase it up if not.

I remember I also had to 'remind' AmEx about the opening bonus when the card was launched - 3,000? 5,000? can't remember - and the bonus appeared after 3-4 months. That was in 2001.

I also had to remind BA and Amex after many months. Wrapped up the reminder with a baggage problem compliant and got 4,000 miles, so was happy in the end!
