2,000 reasons to come back to BA... or not?

Did anyone get this promo?

"We've noticed you haven't flown with British Airways for a while and you've been missed... Simply book and complete a return flight in any cabin before 15 September 2003 and we'll credit your account with 2,000 bonus BA Miles.

Flew in July. Still waiting...

2,000 miles, I'd take it!

I mean thats enough to get you 1/6th the way from London-Edinburgh http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif

btw, how long is a while? 1year, 3years, 5 years and were you Gold / Silver in the past?

Errr, other than a few non-points earning flights, no significant BA activity in 3 years. I never made Silver, but always got irritatingly close (within 20 points one year). Funnily enough, having switched allegiance to UA, I made 2P easily with an almost identical travel pattern. Having recently ramped up the biz flights, I am now a happy BD*G.

2000 miles would actually be quite handy to get my balance to 40k, so I can burn the orphan miles for good...

If your EC account is still active email them and tell them you are waiting for the miles to post, 40,000 is a useful milestone so it may be worth pestering them about it

Thought you might be interested in the reply:

Dear Mr kt74,

You needed to register for this promotion on ba.com/bonusmiles before 29th April 2003. Since you had not registered for the promotion, hence you were not eligible for Bonus Miles.

Thank you for contacting us.

Well, (a) the original email said there was no need to register, and (b) it was only sent on 13 June, so I have no idea how I was supposed to able to register in April... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif

Wonder how long (and how useful) the next response from BA customer services will be...
