WT+ class code changing

It seems I just can't stay away from this place! Im back, I decided not to be intimidated and to just get on with it, now on with the news! The wt+ class code is changing from W to P in october. For some reason this means that you will not be able to book wt+ redemption flights for approx 1-2 weeks in october. I will find out exact dates later for everyone. Just thought I would give out a quick heads-up.

Great to have you back Maws! Didn't post on the other thread 'cos it was yukky. Glad to see it didn't get you down.

Back on topic: hands up who thinks that the new fare code (P) will accrue miles/be upgradeable etc like W or T, and how many people think it will be an 'enhancement'?

I thought P was used for a type of 1st class ticket?

Its used for F on 3-class planes on AA domestic. P means 'premium' in that case. Never seen it on BA before.

Great, welcome back, Maws!

What is the reason for this fare code change? I fail to see the benefit of changing W to P.

Seconded. Good to see that our proverbial "flyertalk blood" has not been spilt in vain.

Regards,
Alex [How grandiloquent was that? ]

I also fail how to see how changing a letter make a difference, if it was either P, W or T I could see a point
