What?!! More than a crisis, it's a disaster!

I've sent a red alert out to the Catering team in Aberdeen and they will be delivered by BA Prime first thing tomorrow morning.

Concorde is being brought back into service as we speak, and a fresh batch of Rowies will be powering their way to Aberdeen

Proof that outside of the South East, every city and town in the UK has a different name for bread rolls.

Also known as a buttery, it is a bread roll that looks a bit like a squashed croissant, but is much denser and saltier.

Quite tasty too

I'm familiar with Aberdeen and it's genuinely a very sentimental place for me. I used to do a lot of commuting by road from Edinburgh to Aberdeen back and forth many years ago and my Mother was actually brought up there.

It took a bit of getting used to certain words including 'care pits' (meaning carpets) which I found out...... was actually your Slippers

Anyhow and back on topic, I hope all is back to normal tomorrow

Here’s a posh rowie I fashioned earlier this year while visiting Strathpeffer.

Sorry redpalmetto, I know this isn’t helping matters

Saying that a rowie is a bread roll is similar to saying Concorde is just a plane

Tattie scones should be a staple feature of BA lounge breakfasts north of the border too IMO.

A rowie (or a buttery) is not a bread roll!

What???? How very dare they. Never will the depriving of my beloved redpalmetto of his"Rowies" (I imagine that HIDDY will be along to enlighten us all where the best are to be found). My hairbrush is ready and primed to do serious damage to the heads that allowed this. Heads will not roll but they will be hairbrushed as only I know how. What next? They'll be serving Bacon Butties sans HP sauce before the week is out. They're toast the lot of them.

I really do think that British Airways need to compensate you with 1.5 million Avios for such an outrage. You will probably need counselling and Psychological help for years. I've read some tales of drunkenness and debauchery on these pages but this crosses a line. If it was not quite so early I'd call for a gin,
