789 F Bassinet - a disgrace
I got off an ultra long haul sector to HND yesterday and took my 10 month old with me for the first time in F.
The bassinet is simply a joke in this cabin and aircraft. For those of you who don’t know, seat 2F can have a bassinet attached but it blocks the table, wardrobe and foot stall from use. You also cannot recline the F seat to a bed or even really recline. Crew said this is a ‘design flaw’ and Club provides a better experience on this aircraft.
Why offer a bassinet in name only? Has anybody else experienced this?

Therefore you have been appropriately penalised for having the audacity to bring a baby into the hallowed confines of the First Class cabin.
Seems it's Club World for you until your baby is over two

(Levity aside, I would have been just as irritated if I was restricted from using pretty much all the elements of the seat due to the bassinet!)

I'm sure British Airways believe the usual First Class passenger has children aged at least 30 or above. People in your demographic are supposed to be struggling to make ends meet, not flying First Class.

Anyone travelling First will obviously have purchased an Economy seat for their infant - they have to learn these things are earnt, otherwise they grow up so entitled.

I like Emirates approach to F .... charging adult fares for all regardless of age. While not banning families, the price tag associated is a deterrent for most.

Good to know. We have 42 flights planned for 2024 with baby, most on QR J and SQ F, which will both hopefully provide better bassinet experience, but I shall be sure to write a review of each different plane and carrier
