Check in times at JNB

On Saturday I'm on the BA54 which should depart at 21:20. I know check in usually is three hours before, but as there is the BA56 departing at 19:20 the desks will be open from around 16:00. Will they let me check in around 17:00? I'm in First in case that makes a difference.

Also now there's a Fast Track for arrivals at JNB, is there one for departures?

TIA

Yes they will let you check in your bags early and no there is no outbound Fastrack. If helps with your plans there is a safe and reliable left luggage facility at the airport too.

Where’s the fast track for arrivals? Didn’t notice it a couple of weeks ago, not that it mattered as our very delayed flight was the only one to arrive at that time!

If you arrive that early why not ask if a seat on BA56 is available?

Far left hand side as you come down the escalator, next to the SA Nationals bank of passport control desks. Its branded (Discovery IIRC) but not always open.

Anyone can but you'll need you BP to access it. Probably. And if it's open. If not I've never had more than a 10-15 min wait off the BA flights.

youve been lucky then. If you land behind a LH or AF A380, it can take ages.
