next question, delayed flight what should they do
so my son, 7 month pregnant wife and 3.5 yo granddaughter are booked on tonight's TPA-LGW 18.50 been delayed to 00:37 at present
we live 2 hours away
when do i need to get them there ? as its over 6 hours delay I really don't want them sat around all that time when they can be here BUT if we arrive late (after original TO time) will desks and baggage be closed ??
any advice from seasoned travelers ?

Unless the text is received from BA advising them check in times have changed, then it annoyingly is usual check in times. Presumably once the 2167 is airborne and things are more certain, hopefully they’ll amend check in desks and message passengers….

There will not be any ‘spare’ BA aircraft at Tampa so no one is going anywhere until the aircraft arrives and is turned round. I suspect BA will update the departure time later today but there’s clearly no point getting there for the scheduled departure time.
How about trying to get them shifted to another route at a more civilized time today?

I'm due to fly back TPA-LGW tomorrow (Already notified as being delayed), which may well mean I'll miss my connection to GLA (of which there is only 1 flight a day), what should I be expecting of BA? (I've kind of resigned myself, to If I want to get home on Wednesday, I'll probably have to go Via LHR - is it a case of get myself there at my own expense & wait however long to get it back?) - and then there's the luggage scenario, does it just come from LGW the following day & get delivered to me? (And I really hope it dosn't knacker up my double tier points!) - Sorry, all supposition on my part at present. (Any advice welcomed)

Yes definitely try calling .. if they've already posted a significant delay ( and probably not insignificant cancellation risk at this stage ) then you may well find them happy to swap you onto a MCO ( or MIA depending on what direction your 2 hours drive is!) ... I would try to do this in the first instance
