Phone charging. Nice - Lcy

My daughter is stuck on the ground in nice ( doors closed ) and her phone is almost flat.

she is in club Europe but they are saying there is no phone charging.

I appreciate it is a smaller plane but are there really no charging facilities ?

the delay is said to be weather related.

No charging available at all, or no charging until in the air and seatbelt sign is off?

Edit: Already answered. I should have just waited

They have now been taken off the plane and told another 2.5 hours. Storm over the channel apparently ?

they have also said get another flight if you can.

given it is a return leg I assume they cant cancel it ?

joy.

Can the flightdeck not pull out the cigarette lighter from the accessory socket and offer that? 🤪

If she can call customer relations i think theyd offer a cancellation and refund in these circs. She may want to take the chance to buy a power bank in the airport if she can. Or, I believe she is entitled to 2 phone calls under EC261 so Id be interested to see how BA facilitates this.

There does seem to be some CB activity over the channel. Although no obvious weather avoidance going on at present, there is probably an ATC regulation in place based on the forecast. From an ATC perspective a sector can quickly turn to ratsh*t with weather like that around. A powerbank would be a great Xmas gift for her!

So I know people at atc. The flight plan has gone - which could mean they aware looking to re route it.

the issue now is how to get hold of anyone at ba to try to get on the Heathrow flight. She is 16. Flights booked by mum. Mum call I suppose

How to deals with ba at nice ?

Other thread re daughter and a flat phone.

ba nice to lcy. Taken off the plane. Another 2.5hours delay. The crew had said they will likely go out of hours.

the flight plan has been taken out of the atc system ( friend works there ).

the question now is how does she ( 16 year old in club Europe ) find a ba person airside to re book her ? The lounge will not have a clue !

If mum ( who booked it ) calls I assume they will say ask at the airport.

any help appreciated.

I assume someone has to call. I doubt anyone can rebook her at the airport. Or she might be able to do it online via the app? BA doesnt usually have staff outside Heathrow.

Things not going so smoothly now between the channel and London airports. Some interesting routeings to get to the holding stacks.

Does she need to get back today? If not and depending on (being 16) whether she has been staying with friends / circs, I think either leave booking alone - all flights will to some degree be disrupted and not being there yourself you risk a ticketing cock up if you start meddling from afar. She will be with other pax and the airport is a safe environment. Im sure this will be an education for her - focus on giving her tools she might need ie directing her to buy a power bank and charger etc. option b is see if can rebook tomorrow & you can book her a hotel - the issue will be presumably no credit card for check in but if you can sort that then may be worth booking now rather than trying at 6pm, and tell her to get a taxi from airport taxi rank, nowhere else!

Id think safest to stick with cityflyer flight though.

NCE ground staff can rebook her on to another LCY service (and at a pinch LHR/LGW) but anything complex will need her to ring up. So this will be a good learning point for keeping phones / chargers lined up when travelling, given that many of us have been there too........

Once a flight is cancelled then it triggers the Disruption menu - can take 20 minutes or so to arrive - and then it's self serve. Note you're only allowed one bite of this, so choose carefully. And naturally this is when this thread gets mentioned:
