BA1406 (LHR-MAN) - chance of cancellation tonight?

Booked on the BA1406 from LHR-MAN this evening at 21:55 and its showing just under a 1h30 delay, so nwarly 11:30pm depature) (no other option for me today to get up to MAN with my schedule).
Ok, it might change for the better, but assuming it doesn't, would they actually cancel this flight (or is it needed for a morning rotation)?

Its likely the aircraft currently scheduled to fly it has a delay. This could disappear at any point. Itll likely fly as planned

I'd think that must be at risk because of the LHR "curfew", but equally the chances are fairly high of a substitution and bringing it in.

I must admit I'd be looking at a train anyway at this point if I absolutely had to be in Manchester tonight. If I didn't I'd roll the dice and see what happened.

I'd guess that the crew may also be delayed, so an improvement would potentially need them swapping out too. Otherwise one imagines by 10pm another A320 could have been found!

It's possible to operate a flight this late if BA choses - depends on their quota and movement limit utilisation to take off after 23:30 (which I suspect they'd be hoping to get airbourne before based on current timings)

G-EUUS left for Zurich about 90 minutes late. That delay is not showing on all its scheduled flights for the rest of today.

It would not surprise me if there was an equipment change somewhere between now and your departure time. One option would be to swap out its scheduled return to Belfast with something else and allowing it an on time departure to MAN.

As its a night stop in manchester, not having an aircraft and crew come in would cause a lot of rescheduling tomorrow.

It's currently due to be G-EUUS which is over France on its way to ZRH. When it comes back it's scheduled to do a BHD run before the MAN run.

Current ETA at ZRH is now less than an hour late and it could quite easily make up some more of the time before the MAN run.

**as I was typing they've bought the estimated departure time from ZRH down to a 41 minute delay.**

This aircraft forms the 07:55 tomorrow , BA also has a 07:00 and an 08:40 and none of the three flights look crazy busy. So maybe not a big drama.

There is a 22:03 train from Euston so hopefully the OP could make that instead if it does get cancelled

The aircraft yes, but there will be a crew flying up now to be on that aircraft coming back tomorrow morning. There will be a crew due to fly up on that aircraft tonight and who will be scheduled to fly back down tomorrow afternoon sometime, that and their subsequent flights would all need reworked.

Two thoughts - can your schedule flex, given weather disruption?

If not, keep Same Day Change if CE under review as the 1404 now estimating 2146, 9 mins before your 2155 departure time! Your 2155 flight currently estimating 2342 departure. All as you know subject to change.

As others have alluded to can you consider getting over to euston to catch the 20:53 getting to pic at 23:08 or 22:03 arriving 00:56 assuming Manc is final destination.

Or book a hotel now. Depends how critical it is you get to Manc tonight. I expect there might be some tactical cancellations and I have a feeling BA ops have regular update calls - at some point they will give up on some flights.

Im on the BA1404 to MAN which is showing a new departure time of 22:16. Theres knock on effects on most flights due to a weather system.

Showing a 12:47am departure now, so I've decided not to bother.
Did try calling the GGL line, which was answered in a couple of seconds, and they went to retrieve my booking before hanging up on me after some silence.
They really don't like me!

The flight is now showing on time. This flight will have a very good chance of departing as it will operate one of tomorrow mornings early flights back to LHR.

Each time I’ve travelled on this service long delays are anticipated but an aircraft swap usually means it operates more or less to schedule.

1406 has had a change of scheduled frames. now scheduled to be G-TTNT, but that may change again.

Lots of chopping and changing going on.
