FA just dumped neighbors half eaten dinner down my back
Currently on BA287 in business class. My neighbor had some kind of stinky cod fish dinner that was perfuming the cabin. The divider window was up and I am next to the window. When the FA was clearing the dish it apparently slid off the tray, bounced off my headphones and slid down the back of the seat. I might have spoken some choice words to her. I apologized as did she. I have worked in restaurants and made mistakes although this takes the cake. Fortunately I had clean clothes with me to change into. She wiped off the muck on the seat and put a blanket over it. There are no other available seats. I have two more flights tonight after this to get home and still smell like fish. It kind of pissed me off. Venting over.

Things happen. We're all human. Sounds like everything that could have been done was done. Life goes on.
I don't think crew "dumped" it on you - it was an accident.

Accidents happen. Not great obviously, but it was clearly an accident.
why cant we treat crew with respect? Even if I was as frustrated, I can restrain myself from using choice words as you put it.

Well it scared the crap out of me...it was behind me and I was watching a movie and was in this little cocoon unaware of what was happening. As I said I have been a server so I know how it feels on both sides. And don't take the word dumped quite so litterally...it just that it was the whole plate fork and knive that landed on me...not a simple spill.

Because nowadays it seems normal to be rude, asking for everything and so on. I know its crazy. Look what happened this week in Oxford street. People decided its cool to go and steal from the shops Logic and reasoning has long gone. A few weeks ago I was returning in CE. Someone decided to self upgrade from Economy. IFM came around and asked him politely if he has changed seats. The guy was quite rude telling her that the seat was empty and he cant see why not. He even produced his business class ticket which was from a previous flight! IFM was amazing and calm and she managed to convince him to go back to Y. He said he will go after he finishes his drink ( drinks provided due to a 40 mins delay).

If the seat still stinks why not ask for a set of pjs from F to wear while still on the flight and save the cleaner clothes for when you land? When an accident like this happens the crew usually go out of their way to help.

Whilst accidents do happen, I think the crew member should have pro-actively offered to fill in a service recovery report from their ipad to provide you with some compensation for whatever cleaning will be required. I suspect it might have at least slightly mitigated the issue.
I have had drinks spilled on me many times by cabin crew and still remember the time it happened to me on KE (red wine!) Both the crew member who spilled the wine and the flight supervisor came to apologise many times despite my saying that it happens and was no issue. They offered to provide a voucher for dry cleaning at ICN but I explained that I was only transiting. At the time I disembarked, both the crew member and flight supervisor were at the door and apologised yet again (I kept blushing by then!) and the flight supervisor handed me an envelope. I was puzzled but took it and opened it later, only to find, to my shock, some banknotes inside it that seemed to have been ironed! (not a huge amount but something that would generously cover dry cleaning!)
I was impressed but wrote back to thank the crew and say that however, if the money came from the crew member I did not want to keep it. The answer I received was that it was not and that it was the airline policy to provide cash compensation for such events if vouchers were not usable in the case of such incidents. I was very impressed.
