Upgrading twice
Dear all,
I want to ask, can you upgrade twice? Using cash only, no Avios involved.
I currently have a ticket on a world traveller (I have paid it with cash and used a bit of Avios to reduce the final cost). The world traveller plus upgrade price is very attractive at the moment. However, the club world is very expensive.
If I upgrade now with cash to WTP, can I upgrade using cash again later on if CW's upgrade price becomes attractive?
On MMB, it currently allows me to upgrade to WTP from WT, as well as CW from WT.
Thanks,

You can buy into WTP now, but it’s then highly unlikely you’ll get another offer to upgrade. From this point it’ll be either calling and paying (likely very expensive) or buy and upgrade at airport if there’s availability

Thanks for your quick reply. So, it is possible to upgrade twice with cash? Currently, I don't think there is an "exclusive offer" on the app/MMB. But the price looks very attractive to upgrade to WTP.
Thanks

I don’t understand the question then, which I thought you had asked. You have an option of a double upgrade showing, but the price is too high? So you’re hoping to upgrade cheaply to WTP and then another cheap offer to Club? This won’t happen

What is often described as an upgrade price on FT is a pro-active upgrade offer (POUG), where BA offers a cheaper price to tempt pax into the higher cabin. This will be cheaper than a fare buy-up.
I dont see why you couldnt do a fare buy-up and then be eligible for a POUG. I dont know if v v applies.

Plus, if the flight is full and overbooked, I can ask if I can move to the next flight (which is like 10 minutes later) and negotiate to CW many times easier.
Also, it showed up as an "exclusive offer" (POUG) earlier today to upgrade to TWP for 399. And now it is 230 but without the "exclusive offer" wording.

It's worth checking the availability in Expertflyer. If you give your flight number and date someone on here can do this. If J is heavily booked, then there won't be cheap upgrades available at any point, but if there is a lot of availability in J then you may be offered a cheap deal close to departure.

Also wondered this recently. Bought a WT return, and took BA on their POUG offer both ways up to WTP.
I can still "upgrade" to CW but as of yet, have not been offered a POUG again to CW, even though there's plenty of availability in that cabin, according to ExpertFlyer. It's unclear on this forum whether you can be POUGed twice, but I will note that when I've taken POUGs in the past the selling class changes to U, which may then be not POUG worthy.
Fare difference upgrades (aka non-POUGs) are rarely better value because of the upgrade fee, usually around 100 on top of any fare difference.

If OP is flying some time this month or early September, then I'm pretty sure most flights would be completely full to the brim as per my experience.
So I guess a question would be, if there are bound to be OpUps anyway, then would OP possibly be offered a cheaper price for an AUP so BA can basically see that as like a "pure profit"?
