GIG Lounge

I've got flights to GIG - LHR next year, and was looking at the lounges. BA uses the AA Admirals Club - but this is only open from 18h on Fridays, and our flight is 17.30h. What happens then, just no lounge access? Flying CW BTW.

Ok, I guess this makes sense, but the schedule is different for next May, so the current hours dont match what willl happen in 10 months time. Thanks.

10 months is much too far in advance for BA to arrange lounge contracts. Id be very surprised if they didnt have something, but if the schedule is changing it may well be different from todays offer.

It's a rubbish lounge anyway, I really wouldn't want to spend more than a few minutes in it if I'm honest.

BA previously used the Plaza Premium lounge but switched several years ago. Despite always flying CW from GIG to LHR, we still use the Plaza Premium lounge, which is very impressive, using American Express Platinum or Priority Pass.

Its small and not exactly aesthetically thrilling but the showers are excellent and the food and drink selection is fairly decent.

I must say that when I was last there (early this year) it was absolutely ghastly. Food was cold greasy fried bites, dry sandwiches, and basically nothing interesting. The lounge was also absolutely packed to the point it was hard to find a seat (my departure was a lot later than the OP's though!). I didn't try the showers.

Given BA are retiming the LHR-GIG-LHR to incorporate LHR-GIG-EZE-GIG-LHR service this winter, can we assume AAdmirals will be operational at the revised times? BA are also selling GIG-EZE as a 5th freedom which will depart GIG in the morning. Will there be suitable provision for a lounge if taking this service?

The food is split in two, with the items you mention over by the TV room and a larger section with more meal-type hot food, soups, salads, fruit etc at the opposite end of the lounge. My only real gripe with the lounge was that most of the power outlets seemed to be broken. (My visit was late March, flight at 9.50pm)

i wonder if that might explain the difference as my flight was quite a bit later than that? Maybe they have a dinner selection and discontinue it after a certain hour?
