Avios points GLA-YVR no availability Oct1/23 departure

HI
Can I ask advice of the forum please? Trying to book GLA-YVR (return) Oct1/2023 departure, using American Express premium plus companion voucher and/or avios.

The BA site shows no availability, will that change when seats are released in the future or is that flight full?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Check the LHR to YVR leg standalone first. I have sometimes seen the domestic leg mess up availability

Hi Thanks for your reply. I have tried to leave out the domestic flight and it is available to pay with money but no reduction avios or companion voucher.

There are plenty of seats available for sale, but no Avios availability.

That will mean all the initial release (355 days in advance) has been taken and youll need to wait to see if further Avios seats are released. Theres no guarantee any further seats will be released.

You can set an alert on SeatSpy, for release of any further seats.

Note that there is Avios availability in Economy on 2 Oct to SEA if that could work for you. You havent said which cabin youre looking for.

.
Given that the OP is using an AMEX premium plus voucher shouldnt he be able to access any I class fares available? Assuming there are some left and he wants business class.

I2 does not = additional space for a companion voucher

Ah, ok. It never is that simple with BA 😊

Do you know how the extra availability accessing I class does work?

AIUI, there must be at least 8 seats available in I class. It seems like there may be other factors too behind the scenes.

I class availability on a particular flight can vary depending on the origin and destination of your overall journey, so a GLA-YVR search may see different availability on the LHR-YVR leg to a CDG-YVR search for instance.
