BA.com refresh - improvements wishlist
Reported over on PYOK it seems like BA have managed to convince IAG that their online services are dysfunctional and not fit for purpose, apparently an investment case has been made and there's a team of 200 people beavering away to "make it better"

What would be the top 10 wish list of bugs to be squashed or enhancements to be made from the BA Flyertalk board? Don't be shy...

Littered with bugs and frequently derided by customers, the British Airways website is set for a major redesign, with a team of more than 200 people currently working on ironing out the problems that have plagued BAs internal IT systems for years.

Replace the image of the Premier Inn room that pops up every time you log in or the website tries to load something.

All I really want is to be able to click through from my list of forthcoming bookings to the selected booking without getting an error and having to enter the PNR again. That is a fundamental error that's existed for years.
And, perhaps, to be able to print details of a booking on a single page of A4 rather than on 7 pages of mostly white space.

200 people...so about 0.5FTE per microservice, 0.001FTE per bug and assume includes 25 project/program/product managers to argue between each other.
Security should be key to this project, and that includes a sophisticated way to ensure back end systems are less vulnerable to social engineering attacks.

Frankly, I think a rewrite from the ground up is likely the best choice to be made. So that's probably off the table. With that said...
* Being able to locate bookings when I'm logged in, and not having to log out and use the PNR and Surname to locate it.
* Award searches to work properly and reliably and allow booking to complete OR give a proper reason why it's failed.
* Browser and platform agnostic - I do not expect to be told that "it works best in Chrome". This is the same as being forced to use IE in the bad old days.
* Print ETickets out without using half an Amazon rainforest (I know this has been mentioned already).
* The App to work reliably and not just suddenly push me to the mobile website and force me to log in again - and then not work anyway.
* An emphasis on functionality and reliability. I don't want 74 ways to do something, 73 of which don't work. I want 1 way that works reliably and well.
Overall, I fear that the exercise is going to be a redesign and the underlying codebase is not going to change - and that added functionality will simply see more and more 'stuff' bolted on to make the site even less reliable and stable.

The ability to self serve and book a return leg online on a 241 would be an epic improvement and prevent the multiple weekly threads asking for tips and strategies! Just add the functionality !

Some good ones above.
Not having the Exec number and name of someone I don't know in my passenger dropdown list. Admittedly, I've not looked for a while to see if Senor Random Spaniard is still there, but that was a good one.
