Best BA lounge in Europe?
Being a brand new GCH am tempted to book a trip so can experience the First Lounge at LHR, but...
Where to fly to in Europe, or even UK, that has a nice lounge to relax in before the return flight?
** Not looking to do a B2B run, will stay over at destination for a night or 2

Cathy First Class lounge in T3 is imho better than any of the BA lounges at LHR and you will be able to access on account off your new BA Gold membership. Enjoy your travels!

Hi,
The Iberia lounge T4s @ Madrid is also nice
I think the Finnair Platinum lounge at HEL is open again
I liked the third party lounges at Venice ( Marco polo) and Vienna
Edinburgh and Glasgow lounges are nice ( but you could access them as a Silver in any case)
Cathay at LHR T3 is very good ( but some reports of it being very busy at certain times of the day)
There are relatively few lounges in Europe that BA gold get exclusive access to compared to BA silver
Regards

I think the Finnair Platinum Wing has to be up there.
I'm booked to go to Helsinki in August... looking forward to trying the sauna.
Also, if you book right, you can get the A350 with the new non-reclining business class seats.

I have to add another vote for Helsinki - at LHR it's in T3 so you can try the first class lounges from Cathy Pacific, BA and AA as well as the Qantas lounge but that doesn't have a first class section. On the way back Finnair has a Platinum Wing that is only accessible based on status so it wasn't accessible to you when you were just silver.

LGW is BAs best F(gold) lounge (CCR is not a F lounge)..
That said the majority of non-BA F lounges are better.. especially LHR T3-CX, AA, etc IMHO depending on what you are into
Go further afield for QF, CX first lounges everywhere (well except AKL)...

Agree with the points above.
wildcard might be a trip to Barcelona. Lovely place to spend a couple of days. Lounge is nice there - decent food and nibbles options and drinks are comprehensive.
no views of anything interesting though.

If you do depart LHR T3 then avoid the QF lounge for the relevant hours before QF departures. CX F may get busy at certain times but nothing like the loud, uncomfortable zoo that is QF.

If it's mainly about lounge, Finnair's Platinum Wing would be my pick too, but it opens a bit late (10.30am) and shuts quite early (5.30pm), so might not work for early morning and late evening flights. I'm not sure if there are any more One World Emerald lounges in Europe (apart from London).
Combined with city break, MAD and FCO would be my preference.
