Avios to be earned have reduced since booking

Hello from a first time poster!

Had to update a flight the other day due to a cancellation and noticed that the Avios earned on that booking have halved. I then decided to check my other bookings and they have all had a reduction, however the tier points remain the same. Nothing has changed with my status, Silver so can't understand this. My tier year did end at start of February, so is this a glitch connected to this?

An example is: ABZ - LHR - DXB flying Euro traveller domestic and WTP on the DXB leg. Original total was 11,260 and now showing as 7,340 but the tier points still at 200.

Any advice or help much appreciated.

What was the flight update? Did the carrier change?

No, it is just a flight down to LHR from ABZ and the return flight I'd booked had been cancelled so was moved onto the next one. When I went onto MMB to confirm I was happy with the change, that's when I noticed the Avios earned on this booking had gone down to 500 from 1000. I then went to check my other bookings and they are all on a lower amount

What MMB says you will earn in terms of Avios for a flight often bears little relation to what you will actually earn, IME anyway!

As far as I can see, Euro Traveller as a silver earns either 750 for the highest fare classes on that route, 500 on the middle classes or 375 on the lowest classes.

I am not aware of any changes in avios earning. What result do you get if you check the flights on the avios earning calculator on ba.com?

Welcome to Flyertalk and the BA forum.

FWIW, 11,260 is the silver earning level (500 + 5,130 + 5,130 + 500); 7,340 is blue level (250 + 3,420 + 3,420 + 250)
firstlight, KARFA and orbitmic like this.

Thank you!
Yes, the 11,260 was what I earned back in September. I think as someone has pointed out it's probably an IT glitch Will just wait and see what happens once I take flights and they get posted on my account.
Thanks to everyone who commented.

This is definitely a glitch. I have seen it multiple times. For example, yesterday's flight from LHR to LAS was correctly showing 10,444 Avios for my wife but only half that for me. I have also seen flights where I would have been earning double the correct Avios while, simultaneously, my wife would be earning only half the correct amount. On all occasions the amount credited to our accounts was correct. Another example of BA's IT at its finest.

avios amounts shown on dummy booking far too low

I could not locate the IT glitch threat so my apologies.

An economy fare as Silver nets around 5500 avios while logged onto my account
TLV LHR SEA YVR and YVR LHR TLV

that cannot be correct as it should be around 11000?

I have noticed this for at least 2 months now...have I missed the office memo?

I'm not sure what you mean here. Did you enter each segment separately as advised by E14 26C and still came up with an incorrect amount?

I think you both need to read what the OP is asking. They aren't referring to the Calculator, but the Avios amount quoted during the booking process (note the title says dummy booking).

Saying that, I have noticed some time ago that the website was quoting the wrong Avios amounts again. The app seems to quote the correct figures.
