Club world trolley service

Do you think they will ever re-introduce the trolley for starter and dessert they had pre-pandemic? I quite enjoyed it

Wasn't that stopped well before COVID? I think it just didn't work service wise from memory of reports on here.

I love a trolly ride!
Oh, wait.
But seriously, I would think that's more efficient than FAs running dishes back and forth by hand, no?

That's one thing I enjoy on RJ, the trolley service and the school dinner lady traits of the CC trying to encourage you to eat more and mix up the offerings as you desire as they load it onto your plate.

My thoughts exactly! It is nice to see what's on offer. Also, more of a chance of pud and cheese

Doubt it, the crew hated it. And it took an absolute age.

Not forgetting the AA Trolley service of Ice Cream Sundae toppings.

Trolley service was removed pre-covid about ~2018. See, for example:
Mixed message on BA trolley service

Oh, they still wheel out the cart and plate it up in front of you in Crown Class on Royal Jordanian?

I flew them in 2008 -

I thought it was pretty fabulous all round, to be honest. They certainly do like you to take some of everything.

Suits me! Glad to hear they still do it!

Imagine trying to get a trolley down the club aisles on an A350 or the 787-10. That way madness lies

You beat me too it. Would be chaos as those aisles are tight already. I experienced it in 2017 and didn't feel anything special about it. Rather they just bring stuff out

I must admit, I did too. Didn't seem to hang around too long. Also, I found that it was quite easy to grab a couple of starters and/or grab an extra top-up whilst it was going around.

Can't complain about the current service though. When I flew back from JFK last week, despite it being a very short fly (5 hours 55mins) the crew on top of things, asked what we wanted whilst on the ground, including our first drink option, delivered this with nuts, then the food, with another drink, then swiftly came around again offering a third. It got to a fourth and I had to turn that down as it was too much in too short a period for me (including the welcome drink).

The étagère service certainly looked great but it was thought up by someone who’s never worked on an aircraft before in their lives (shock!) and it quickly became apparent it was totally impractical to deliver in a timely manner. I remember services taking 4+ hours and that was with a crew who were on the ball. It was truly awful from a crew perspective.
